Producer for Final Fantasy XVI Naoki Yoshida has confirmed that the newest title in the FF series is in for some paid-DLC. On top of that, it has been confirmed by Mr. Yoshida that the PC port of FF16 is in development, so the end of the game’s exclusivity to PS5 is officially on countdown. There was no indication as to when we can expect to see the DLC or PC port coming out.

Neither pieces of news come as much of a surprise. Final Fantasy 15 saw a lot of extra content come from DLC, which culminated in the release of the Royal Edition (I remember when if you bought a game you got all the game had to offer), and Sony seems content to keep games off Xbox and that’s about it (I also remember when exclusive meant exclusive).

Playing videogames, writing about videogames, considering videogames—that about sums it up. Videogames are the one hobby that I’ve kept since I was only little, zapping ducks on the NES or knocking out MR. X. And when I’m not enjoying classics from the bit generation of games or checking out those earliest of polygons, I’ probably playing something from today’s age of modern gaming: if I’m not complaining about it.

Something I’m doing at the moment? Playing through the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster collection, and all the other mainline Final Fantasy games up 12 on the Switch.
