Edge Of Eternity New & Improved
If you haven’t joined the sibling pair, Daryon and Selene on their quest to save their mother then now might be the time to do so.
Edge of Eternity is a RPG from Midgard Studios, the small developer of that, fuelled by their love of JRPGs, created the family focused adventure that balloons into much more. The game had a fair bit of excitement surrounding it from JRPG fans, and although it hasn’t quite hit the heights of inspirations, Edge of Eternity is a fun and ambition first try from the fledgling developer.
Midgard aren’t though with EoE just yet though, with a new release of content to improve some of the titles sort comings. The free update will add a new dungeon to the game, a retouched opening for the game to improve first impressions for new players, and some of the game’s quests have been improved by removing unnecessary busy-work.
It’s great to see Midgard Studio’s commitment to improving Edge of Eternity, going so far as to ‘revamp’ some story and quest elements speaks to the care the studio has for the game and the experience of fans. I’ve actually completed Edge of Eternity myself, and while I have my criticisms of the story and it’s pacing, the overall time I spent playing Edge of Eternity was enjoyable, particularly the battle system.
The new update for Edge of Eternity is available on PC now, and will be coming to consoles sometime later this year.
Playing videogames, writing about videogames, considering videogames—that about sums it up. Videogames are the one hobby that I’ve kept since I was only little, zapping ducks on the NES or knocking out MR. X. And when I’m not enjoying classics from the bit generation of games or checking out those earliest of polygons, I’ probably playing something from today’s age of modern gaming: if I’m not complaining about it.
Something I’m doing at the moment? Playing through the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster collection, and all the other mainline Final Fantasy games up 12 on the Switch.
