Sega is truly exasperating. Perhaps they’re just the truest example of the ‘thin line between genius and madness’. They produced a great mini-console in the Sega Mega Drive mini, then they announced the baffling Game Gear Mini.

Sega might be about to put a smile on faces though with the announcement of the of a new mini-console, the Astro City Mini over at Game.Watch.Impress.Japan.

Astro City was originally a line of sit-down arcade cabinets rather then a home console, but now Sega has decided to give us the opportunity to own a miniature machine ourselves.

This really is a mini arcade machine (like the Neo Geo Mini) with it’s own arcade stick, buttons and screen. Pictures also show a HDMI out port so the Astro City Mini should be playable on TV. There is supposed to be 36 titles in total included in the Astro City Mini, some having already been revealed.

The revealed titles are;

  1. Alien Syndrome
  2. Alien Storm Golden Axe
  3. Altered Beast
  4. Columns II
  5. Dark Edge
  6. Fantasy Zone
  7. Golden Axe: The Revenge of Death Adder
  8. Ichidant-R
  9. Virtua Fighter
