Not only has Blaze announced their new, larger capacity carts – the giga carts – for all those CD based videogames that are just a little too much for the 8 and 16-bit focused Evercade carts that have hit the shops shelves (not really, as far as I know the Evercade carts are only available online), but a new revisions, one for each the VS and EXP, are also on the horizon.

The new revisions, called the VS-R and EXP-R, are aesthetically different, and cheaper versions of the Evercade VS and EXP machines.

Blaze lists the redux console revisions priced as:

EXP-R £99.99, $99.99 and €119.99

VS-R £89.99, $99.99 and €109.99

As far as the the EXP-R, the price reduction is as a result of removing the micro-HDMI port that is on existing EXP machines, as well as the removal of the included digital games from Capcom. However, the EXP-R will ship with a bundled giga cart. As far as the VS-R, it’s not entirly clear what changes the hardware has undergone.

The Crying Stars Is Available Now

Playing videogames, writing about videogames, considering videogames—that about sums it up. Videogames are the one hobby that I’ve kept since I was only little, zapping ducks on the NES or knocking out MR. X. And when I’m not enjoying classics from the bit generation of games or checking out those earliest of polygons, I’m probably playing something from today’s age of modern gaming: if I’m not complaining about it. Something I’m doing at the moment? Returning to the many Final Fantasy games on the Switch to complete a couple more.
