So Nintendo has held their latest direct event and the whole thing went down rather well.

If you would like to see the event in its entirety then scroll to the bottom, but what exactly we there?

Well there was plenty that we has already seen with the likes of Harvestella, what looks to be Square Enix’s attempt at Harvest Moon/Rune Factory (which is to have a demo release on the Nintendo Switch eshop soon), Front Mission 1 and 2 remakes and the first ‘splatfest’ for Splatoon 3.

Nintendo still had some surprises though, and they led with a big one in Fire Emblem: Engage, a rand new entry into the Fire Emblem franchise after the series’ big success with Three Houses.

For JRPG fans we had Octopath Traveler 2, sequel to the excellent Octopath traveler, that sees you play through the eight interwoven adventures for eight different characters.

There was news on what N64 games will be coming to the Nintendo Switch online service, with the big news here being that GoldenEye 007, the James Bond licenced game that so many remember so fondly.

Things ended with new footage for The Legend of Zelda: Tear of the Kingdom, the sequel to Breath of the Wild. There was only a little bit shown, but we did get a release date of May 12th, 2023.

There was still a lot I didn’t write about, so check out the fast-moving direct below if you’re interested.
