We’ve been waiting a long time but finally, Google has played their hand, & that hand is the Stadia. A service instead of a console as many had been speculating, the Stadia promises to offer 4K and 60FPS gaming on just about anything with a screen, be that phone, tablet, TV or computer, all you need is an internet connection, or more specifically an internet connect of between 25 Mbps to 30 Mbps. A tall order here in the UK at least, where most provider’s super fast connections cost almost £30 a month and we haven’t even touched on the cost of the Stadia subscription itself yet.

Alongside the cost barrier Google have yet to provide us with a gaming reason to get excited for the  Stadia, no exclusives were shown during the unveiling of the service nor were any promised. Google did however reveal that they have established their own first party studio dubbed Stadia Games and Entertainment.

All in all the Stadia reveal proved anticlimactic, & while the service might be worth keeping an eye on Google haven’t done much to grab many gamers’ attention yet.
