Sony has given Playstation players a look ahead for some of the ‘highlights’ coming to the console in 2024, first in an offical post on the Playstation blog, and then with a trailer for Youtube. Although all the games mentioned on the are ones we all know about, it’s nice to have some release dates confirmed for games that were sitting in that vague release-window void.

Some of the games written about included Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive maker Team Ninja’s Rise of the Ronin, an action RPG set in Edo era Japan (22/03/24). Sticking to action, Sony included Korean studio Shift Up and their first console game, Stellar Blade (only a 2024 release-window). And for online fans there is The Final Shape, the latest expansion to the Destiny 2 saga (coming 04/06/24).

Playing videogames, writing about videogames, considering videogames—that about sums it up. Videogames are the one hobby that I’ve kept since I was only little, zapping ducks on the NES or knocking out MR. X. And when I’m not enjoying classics from the bit generation of games or checking out those earliest of polygons, I’m probably playing something from today’s age of modern gaming: if I’m not complaining about it. Something I’m doing at the moment? Collecting Legendary Pokemon that I missed in Arceus and Sword the first time around.
