This is becoming a habit, Nintendo holds one of their Direct events & we all leave our monitors asking, how am I going to afford all those games?

Following in the vein of their smash hit E3, Nintendo’s September Direct highlighted a wealth of new and exciting titles coming to the Switch, including OverWatch, Return of the Obra Dinn, Super Kirby Clash & Deadly Premonition 1 & 2, while also ensuring we don’t forget about the likes of Link’s Awakening & Luigi’s Mansion 3, titles we might have seen a few times already, but are none the less eagerly looking forward to. Speaking of things we’ve seen already, Nintendo surprised everyone by not only announcing fan favourites Banjo & Kazooie would be joining the cast of Smash during the Direct, but that Terry Bogard of Fatal Fury fame will also be coming in the not too distant future as well a number of other DLC fighters via an, as yet, unannounced season 2 character pass.

Further surprises came in the form of an unexpected port of the Wii U’s Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore, a closer look at Animal Crossing: New Horizons & the news that 20 Super NES Classics will be made available to online subscribers immanently. Oh, and Xenoblade Chronicles is to be re-released in the form of a definitive edition next year.

A Direct to remember then, & one that proves, if proof was needed, that the Switch is going from strength to strength, a fact that’ll cost us in the wallet.
