Famitsu magazine has been very busy over the last couple of weeks. To end the year the Japanese games magazine had aspirations of many working in the games industry, and now they have a ‘new year’s cards’ segment, giving even more chances from companies in video games to give something to get excited about. Three companies in particular stood out for teasing new games coming in 2023. Although no information was given about any of the titles, we will likely be hearing more about them soon.

The biggest one on Famitsu’s new year cards is probably Konami. The Metal Gear, Castlevania and Silent Hill (among others) company let readers know that they have some unannounced projects that we will be hearing about this year. That’s on top of news for the many Silent Hill related projects we already know about.

Second is Atlus, who are, of course, famous for the Shin Megami Tensei series and its spin-off. Just what Atlus will be releasing is anyone’s guess, but we do know that it’s something as yet unannounced.

Next up is Level 5, the massive Japanese developer and publisher behind the likes of Yokai Watch and Professor Layton. Level 5 will be announcing a new game too.

Then there’s Spike Chunsoft, a developer and publisher you may not think of in the bracket of Konami, Level 5 or Atlus, but just look at their portfolio of titles if you have any doubt of how prolific Chunsoft is. Spike Chunsoft is also planning on announcing a new title in 2023, and given the many pies that Chunsoft has their fingers in, a new game could be just about anything.
