Super Mario Nintendo Direct

There’s been a lot of talk about a Mario themed Nintendo Direct in celebration of the 35th anniversary, and Nintendo decided that today (03/09/2020) was the day they would prove that talk right.

You can watch the whole 16 minute or so Direct below, and if you want to know what was shown keep reading.

In November of this year you can expect a special Mario related version of the classic Game & Watch handheld. Then we had Super Mario World 3D, which is coming to the Switch next year with new content called Bowser’s Fury.

Super Mario 35 is a redo of Super Mario but with a Tetris 99 twist, and then there was Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit, a set of RC Mario Kart toys that involve control using a Nintendo Switch.

There was some Mario tie-in merchandise that flew by, but more importantly was the announcment that Super Mario All Stars will be available for download on the Super NES online collection today for anyone with a Nintendo Switch online subscription.

The biggest news was left for last though with confirmation of the long rumoured Super Mario 3D All Stars, a collection of Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Galaxy. Even more surprisingly, Super Mario 3D All Stars is releasing on September 18th, 2020.
