Steam machine

Steam is pricey

You got a grand? Valve has just the thing for you—if you want to spend a grand. Their new PC, the Steam Machine, has finally had it’s price released. Valve are offering four different options for customers, and even the cheapest is close to a thousand pounds (it’s over a thousand dollars in America), and the most expensive costing £1,208. The cheapest offering sells the Steam Machine on it’s on with 512GB of storage. The most expensive is the computer with 2TB of storage and a Steam controller, the other two deals are those same amounts of storage, with or without the controller.

The price is so high; and it looks like Valve is aware of that. As part of the official blog for Steam where these prices were revealed, Valve explains that world circumstances surrounding the shortage of RAM, as well as other electronics components, has played a part in the inflated price. Whether that’s going to convince some to part with their cash or not I wouldn’t expect so, but this machine might bring in the more enthusiast among us.

Ed-itor-in-chief

Playing videogames, writing about videogames, considering videogames—that about sums it up. Videogames are the one hobby that I’ve kept since I was only little, zapping ducks on the NES or knocking out MR. X. And when I’m not enjoying classics from the bit generation of games or checking out those earliest of polygons, I’m probably playing something from today’s age of modern gaming: if I’m not complaining about it. Something I’m doing at the moment? Taking the Multisystem 2 for a spin.
