FPGA in the palm of your handhelds
If you’re looking for a Mister FPGA solution to your handheld gaming needs then the people at Heber might have just the thing for you.
Having already brought the Mister Multisystem 2 to market (an emulation machine I’m a big fan of), Heber certainly know how to design and release an FPGA console, and their latest is a handheld running the Mister framework.
It’s still not finished yet but Heber has made big progress with the handheld, and they’ve put together a rather lengthy update on that progress, giving a look at the machine and some explanations as to the thinking behind some of the decisions they’ve made. The Youtube channel, the Retro Collective have the whole video up, and you can watch it below.

Playing videogames, writing about videogames, considering videogames—that about sums it up. Videogames are the one hobby that I’ve kept since I was only little, zapping ducks on the NES or knocking out MR. X. And when I’m not enjoying classics from the bit generation of games or checking out those earliest of polygons, I’m probably playing something from today’s age of modern gaming: if I’m not complaining about it. Something I’m doing at the moment? Playing dome of the survival horror games in my GOG and Steam libraries.
