Is Donkey Kong Still On?

Nintendo had a very good showing for their Direct over this year’s E3, but one or two hoped for announcements were missing. The big one – and which had quite a number of sponsors – was the rumour of a new Donkey Kong game and development possibly being handled by Nintendo’s staff that were responsible for Mario Odyssey.

Since this news of a new Donkey Kong title failed to materialised many have started questioning the veracity of the rumour, but one of those who certainly hasn’t is blogger ‘Zippo’.

Zippo was one of the voices speaking about a new Donkey Kong game and is assuring fans that the game is indeed in the works and that we can expect more DK news besides, including a new animation.

Zippo wrote about this news of an animation as well as reaffirming the new Donkey Kong game in a recent post on his blog that you can read here.

This news is still unconfirmed of course so take it with a pinch of salt, but it’s worth keeping in mind that it wasn’t just Zippo proclaiming the rumour of a new Donkey Kong game that had so many excited.

And certainly you can count Stage-Select as one of the voices that hope these rumours turn out to be true.
