I’m somewhat confused. Blaze, the people behind the Evercade have revealed their new brand, Hyper Mega Tech’s first products. You can view the trailer below.

The new handheld console, the Super Pocket, looks to be a cheaper alternative to the Evercade EXP. That price drop, as well as the smaller form (the Super Pocket is a lot closer to the vertically-oriented Game Boy than the horizontal Evercade), look to be the main selling points of the new systems. The Super Pocket is coming to two styles, one being the Capcom version and the other being a Taito version, both with different games built-in, and in different colours. The Super Pocket is compatible with ‘all Evercade cartridges’, and the games for each of the two Super Pocket editions are written below.

For the Capcom Edition:

  1. 1942
  2. 1943
  3. 1944 Loop Master
  4. Bionic Commando
  5. Captain Commando
  6. Final Fight
  7. Forgotten Worlds
  8. Ghouls ‘n Ghosts
  9. Mega Man
  10. Street Fight II: Hyper Fighting
  11. Strider
  12. Wolf of the Battlefield MERCS

On the Taito Eition:

  1. Bubble Bobble
  2. Cadash
  3. Chack ‘n Pop
  4. Don Doko Don
  5. Elevator Action
  6. Football Champ
  7. Growl
  8. Kiki Kaikai
  9. Legend of Kage
  10. Liquid Kids
  11. Operation Wolf
  12. Rastan
  13. Space Invaders
  14. Space Invaders ‘91
  15. The Fairyland Story
  16. The NewZealand Story
  17. Volified

All the games on the Capcom edition of the Super Pocket are already available on the Evercade as digital pack-ins. The Taito games are not available on the Evercade, though it wouldn’t surprise me if we hear about a Taito Evercade cartridge at the next Evercade Showcase.

The Super Pocket will be available for pre-order on the 14th of July,2023. Check out the official website here.

Ed-itor-in-chief

Playing videogames, writing about videogames, considering videogames—that about sums it up. Videogames are the one hobby that I’ve kept since I was only little, zapping ducks on the NES or knocking out MR. X. And when I’m not enjoying classics from the bit generation of games or checking out those earliest of polygons, I’ probably playing something from today’s age of modern gaming: if I’m not complaining about it.

Something I’m doing at the moment? Being impress by Project Firestart.
