Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi is working on a new project. Mr. Sakaguchi took to X to mention that he had visited Ise Jingu shrine (a Shinto shrine to Amaterasu) to express thanks for his good health and the start of his newest project.

Although there are no details on the new project it seems that this would be a new game rather than the much wanted ports of the well received Fantasian series to consoles and PC that has been stuck on the Apple arcade service.

Even without details news that Mr. Sakaguchi is working on anything is always welcome, especially amon JRPG fans.

Playing videogames, writing about videogames, considering videogames—that about sums it up. Videogames are the one hobby that I’ve kept since I was only little, zapping ducks on the NES or knocking out MR. X. And when I’m not enjoying classics from the bit generation of games or checking out those earliest of polygons, I’ probably playing something from today’s age of modern gaming: if I’m not complaining about it.

Something I’m doing at the moment? Playing through the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster collection, and all the other mainline Final Fantasy games up 12 on the Switch.
