Despite having more cash than King Midas, Google has taken the decision to end their subscription-based service, Google Stadia.

They may have had a big vision to move video games away from fans and onto servers, but Google’s plans have run into harsh reality. Phil Harrison, Vice President and General Manager of Stadia, has revealed in a blog post that the Stadia service has failed to gain the sort of uptake from gamers that Google would have hope, so the service is to cease on the 18th of January, 2023.

Although there are a few who will be sad to see the demise of Google’s Stadia, the good news is Google has promised to refund any purchases made through the Google play store.
