Too Much Money? Too Many Games?
Pass on game pass?
Is game pass too expensive? According to Asha Sharma, CEO of Microsoft Gaming thinks so. The recently installed Xbox head has made a few statements that can be called positive since she took post, and suggesting that the game pass service isn’t quite the value for money offer that itshould be is definitely another one.
The service has already seen a rather large price increase recently, but just like the ‘this is an Xbox’ advert strategy (another recent play made by Microsoft) Sharma looks to be questioning the direction the division is going in.
Xbox fans have watch the console effectively become an appendage of game pass – something that I’ve criticised frequently – and been left asking why they don’t just opt for a PC with pc game pass, or even getting a PS5 or Switch 2.
If any of these statements from Sharma end up changing things at Xbox for the better she deserves credit for redirecting a mammoth like Microsoft, but I’m still sceptical that will happen.

Playing videogames, writing about videogames, considering videogames—that about sums it up. Videogames are the one hobby that I’ve kept since I was only little, zapping ducks on the NES or knocking out MR. X. And when I’m not enjoying classics from the bit generation of games or checking out those earliest of polygons, I’m probably playing something from today’s age of modern gaming: if I’m not complaining about it. Something I’m doing at the moment? Taking the Multisystem 2 for a spin.
