I don’t know anyone who makes use of the Apple Arcade subscription, but it must be fairly popular. Apple have sunk some serious cents into the service (relative to normal businesses rather than relative to Apple’s bank balance), and that has kept some quality titles tied to the service under exclusivity deals. One of those games that I’ve been hoping to see make its way to other platforms is Fantasian, a two part JRPG from Mistwalker, the studio best known for Lost Odyssey and the Blue Dragon series. Mistwalker is helmed by Mr. Hironobu Sakaguchi, the creator of the Final Fantasy franchise and an all-around pillar of videogames.

It looks like Fantasian is going to turn up on Steam at least after an entry turned up on SteamDB. This might just signal that the well received RPG is soon to be going multiplatform. It’s been a very long time since we’ve had a Mistwalker game get a release on consoles – the last time was Last Story on the Nintendo Wii over a decade ago – far too long to enjoy the works of a very strong games developer.

Playing videogames, writing about videogames, considering videogames—that about sums it up. Videogames are the one hobby that I’ve kept since I was only little, zapping ducks on the NES or knocking out MR. X. And when I’m not enjoying classics from the bit generation of games or checking out those earliest of polygons, I’ probably playing something from today’s age of modern gaming: if I’m not complaining about it.

Something I’m doing at the moment? Playing through the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster collection, and all the other mainline Final Fantasy games up 12 on the Switch.
