Dreamcast FPGA
Hello Mr. Dreamcast
There’s been doubts after doubts after scepticism over one system or another and whether the MisterFPGA platform, with its current technical capabilities, can run it. Two that come to mind were the Sega Saturn and the Nintendo 64, and although there was plenty of cajoling and tweaking, some very clever people managed to get both those systems up and running on Mister, and running very well at that. Another one that’s been on a lot of wish lists has been the Dreamcast, Sega’s superstar system that turn into the last console Sega has made to date (I’m still hoping). This new Dreamcast core is till in very, very early development and, as you’d expect, there are still numerous issues with it, but it’s still great to see people pushing the hardware and seeing just what else the pocket powerhouse can do.

Playing videogames, writing about videogames, considering videogames—that about sums it up. Videogames are the one hobby that I’ve kept since I was only little, zapping ducks on the NES or knocking out MR. X. And when I’m not enjoying classics from the bit generation of games or checking out those earliest of polygons, I’m probably playing something from today’s age of modern gaming: if I’m not complaining about it. Something I’m doing at the moment? Returning to Turok with the collection on Switch.
