Southampton based Bitmap Bureau have been bringing the same fun that we find in 16-bit games with the likes of Xeno Crisis and Final Vendetta. And all the hard work that the people at Bitmap looks have been noticed by Reef Entertainment, a publisher with games like Terminator: Resistance and Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island.

Reef Creative Group (parent of Reef Entertainment) has bought a 70% stake of Bitmap Bureau which, although will mean that Bitmap will be effectively owned by Reef, it also means that Bitmap will be in a much more secure financial position and should be able to focus on games without so many budget concerns.

Playing videogames, writing about videogames, considering videogames—that about sums it up. Videogames are the one hobby that I’ve kept since I was only little, zapping ducks on the NES or knocking out MR. X. And when I’m not enjoying classics from the bit generation of games or checking out those earliest of polygons, I’m probably playing something from today’s age of modern gaming: if I’m not complaining about it. Something I’m doing at the moment? Playing through Star Ocean: First Departure R.
