The Atari 50 the anniversary edition was a compilation done the way compilations should be. That’s not really a surprise since the team behind it, Digital Eclipse, have shown themselves to be quality-kingpins of computer game collections. But Digital Eclipse and publishers Atari don’t seem content with releasing a collection in excess of 100 games—they’ve just released a free update to the title that adds another 12 more in the run-up to Christmas.

The games added to the already heaving compilation include officially licenced, homebrew and prototype titles for 12 new games in total.

The games added are:

  1. Adventure 2 (Homebrew for the 2600)
  2. Aquaventure (Prototype for the 2600)
  3. Bowling (2600)
  4. Circus Atari (2600)
  5. Double Dunk (2600)
  6. Maze Craze (2600)
  7. Miniature Golf (2600)
  8. MotoRodeo (2600)
  9. Return To Haunted House (Homebrew for the 2600)
  10. Save Mary (Prototype for the 2600)
  11. Super Football (2600)
  12. Warbirds (Lynx)

Playing videogames, writing about videogames, considering videogames—that about sums it up. Videogames are the one hobby that I’ve kept since I was only little, zapping ducks on the NES or knocking out MR. X. And when I’m not enjoying classics from the bit generation of games or checking out those earliest of polygons, I’ probably playing something from today’s age of modern gaming: if I’m not complaining about it. Something I’m doing at the moment? Collecting Legendary Pokemon that I missed in Arceus and Sword the first time around.
