Armed Fantasia Cancelled
Only a fantasy
Sad news for JRPG fans and Wild Arms fans especially: Armed Fantasia has been cancelled. Being billed as a spiritual successor to the long dormant Wild Arms franchise, Armed Fantasia was being developed by staff behind the Wild Arms series, and for all intents and purposes it was a Wild Arms Game by another name, at least that’s how it was perceived. Despite clear interest in the game from fans (it and the new game from the mind behind Shadow Hearts passed a successful Kickstarter campaign), publisher 505 Games came to the decision that pursuing development of Armed Fantasia further would be against their interest, with 505 seemingly being unimpressed with the game’s development thus far.
Playing videogames, writing about videogames, considering videogames—that about sums it up. Videogames are the one hobby that I’ve kept since I was only little, zapping ducks on the NES or knocking out MR. X. And when I’m not enjoying classics from the bit generation of games or checking out those earliest of polygons, I’m probably playing something from today’s age of modern gaming: if I’m not complaining about it. Something I’m doing at the moment? Playing dome of the survival horror games in my GOG and Steam libraries.
