Analogue New MD and Snes

Sega Mega Drive + Super Nintendo = fun

Back in 2017 Analogue, the company behind a number of FPGA based retro games consoles, released the Super Nt, and in 2018 the Mega Sg. The two were FPGA emulation consoles for the SNES and Mega Drive respectively, and after some time and stock selling out the two systems have been out of production at Analogue. Now the company has announced two new ‘+’ versions of pair.

The Super Nt + and Mega Sg + will have built in bluetooth and USB-C power connections and more.

If you’re interested in either of Analogue’s consoles but don’t want to pay excessive prices for second-hand units, maybe these revisions are for you. But beware, these are for pre-orders, and it must be said that Analogue doesn’t have the best reputation when it comes to handling pre-orders. I can’t speak from personal experience, but there are plenty of stories on the internet from customers, so keep that in mind.

Ed-itor-in-chief

Playing videogames, writing about videogames, considering videogames—that about sums it up. Videogames are the one hobby that I’ve kept since I was only little, zapping ducks on the NES or knocking out MR. X. And when I’m not enjoying classics from the bit generation of games or checking out those earliest of polygons, I’m probably playing something from today’s age of modern gaming: if I’m not complaining about it. Something I’m doing at the moment? Playing dome of the survival horror games in my GOG and Steam libraries.
