We all knew Nintendo was working on a new Legend of Zelda title, the company has operated that way for years, development of new games in the franchise usually begins very soon after the latest is out the door. What we didn’t know until e3 however was that the next Legend of Zelda would be a direct sequel to Breath of the Wild. Since the game’s reveal, long time series producer Eiji Aonuma has commented that he feels the Hyrule of Breath of the Wild has so much more to offer, & the only real chance of seeing it all is through a direct sequel.
Mr Aonuma went on to add he was reminded greatly of Majora’s Mask when thinking of Breath of the Wild 2, they are both direct sequels, after all, built on the bones of beloved classics.
The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 has yet to be given a release date.
