The 800XL

Another emulation recreation

With 25 built in games and being compatible with original ones, Retro Games Limited is bringing us another retro machine in emulation form.

The 800XL is the latest replication from Retro Games Limited, and it’s going foe the Atari 800, the high-end 8-bit computer offering from Atari back in the late-late 70s and into the 80s. The 800XL will have a working mechanical keyboard and a cartridge slot to allow you to play all your ‘original Atari 400, 800, XL and XE cartridges.’

The 800XL is supposed to release in April next year, but Retro Games Limited need to get around to releasing the A1200 first, the full sized Amiga machine that’s seen delays already; that’s supposed to release in December of this year (2026).

Ed-itor-in-chief

Playing videogames, writing about videogames, considering videogames—that about sums it up. Videogames are the one hobby that I’ve kept since I was only little, zapping ducks on the NES or knocking out MR. X. And when I’m not enjoying classics from the bit generation of games or checking out those earliest of polygons, I’m probably playing something from today’s age of modern gaming: if I’m not complaining about it. Something I’m doing at the moment? Playing dome of the survival horror games in my GOG and Steam libraries.
