Star Ocean 2 Remake

Thanks has to go to the eagle-eyes over at RPG Fan, the genre dedicated website. If you happen to check out RPG Fan you can see that the folks over there seem to have uncovered an accidental announcement for a new game: Star Ocean 2 seems to be getting a remake.

A logo for ‘Star Ocean The Second Story R’ was posted to the Square Enix Support site for a time, then it was taken down, but not before a screenshot was taken.

This news would follow in the steps of Start Ocean First Departure R, a remake of the first Star Ocean game (Is see what they did with that ‘R’ in the titles) for the PS4 and Switch. That game never got a physical release, but who knows, with the warm reception of Star Ocean the Divine Force, maybe we’ll see a double pack of First Departure and Second Story on a console sometime in the future.

Hey, we got it for Final Fantasy 7 and 8.
