Ocarina of Time Remake
Timeless
Nintendo might be doing what Square didn’t. We’ve now seen the latest Nintendo Direct, having come off the heels of this seemingly games showcase season, and it probably had the biggest game reveal of all.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, the Nintendo 64 classic is being remade and, perhaps even more surprisingly, the return is set for this year.
Ocarina of Time is the greatest game ever made. That might sound like a bold claim, especially for those of you that weren’t of an age to appreciate Hyrule’s greatest legend when it released almost three decades ago, but it is. At the time it was widely considered the best videogames had every seen and it’s largely maintained that position in the eyes of many fans. Now Nintendo has made the brave move to completely remake it, and I would guess that they’re going to give us a proper remake, not whatever one might want to call Final Fantasy 7 Remake. At least, that’s what I hope Nintendo do. If the Big N wants to cram more fun in Ocarina of Time I’m all for it, of course, I just hope that this is more Resident Evil Remake and less of Square’s flawed, flaccid fopaux.

Playing videogames, writing about videogames, considering videogames—that about sums it up. Videogames are the one hobby that I’ve kept since I was only little, zapping ducks on the NES or knocking out MR. X. And when I’m not enjoying classics from the bit generation of games or checking out those earliest of polygons, I’m probably playing something from today’s age of modern gaming: if I’m not complaining about it. Something I’m doing at the moment? Taking the Multisystem 2 for a spin.
