After a rating for it was spotted on the ESRB website Nintendo has officially confirmed its release: Nintendo World Championship: NES Edition is coming to the Switch.

The new game, a compilation of NES titles, looks to be similar to NES Remix on the Wii U. Each game on the World Championships cart for the Switch will come with a number of challenges to complete – like time trials for instance – so these are older games but played in ways you haven’t seen before.

Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition will be releasing digitally on the 18th of July, 2024, on the Nintendo eShop, with a physical special edition available for pre-order now.

Playing videogames, writing about videogames, considering videogames—that about sums it up. Videogames are the one hobby that I’ve kept since I was only little, zapping ducks on the NES or knocking out MR. X. And when I’m not enjoying classics from the bit generation of games or checking out those earliest of polygons, I’m probably playing something from today’s age of modern gaming: if I’m not complaining about it. Something I’m doing at the moment? Returning to the black hole that is Football Manager.
