Microsoft + Activision Deal Okayed By E.U. Commission: CMA Criticises Decision

0

The European Union Commission has given the all-clear for Microsoft to acquire Activision in the mega-deal that has been frustrated in both Britain and the U.S.A. The CMA (Competition and Markets Authority) in the U.K. has already ruled against allowing the acquisition, so even with this news Microsoft will not be able to go ahead with the deal, but could use this news as evidence in their appeal of the CMA’s decision that the deal does not threaten competition.

For their part the CMA have criticised the decision by the European Union and said that stand by their previous decision.
