The demonstrations and remonstrations from those involved in the FTC’s case against the Xbox-Activision buyout have not been particularly edifying. To see Sony and Microsoft effectively argue over which one is better at running their business worse is not something I would have guessed made for a good legal defence, but I suppose that’s why I’m not a lawyer.

One thing that came out of it though is the news that IO Interactive is working on what is described as an RPG shooter.

The codename for this game is Project Dragon, and although we can’t say for sure, it looks like it’s going to PC and Xbox only. This is all based on the information released in court, so none of this is official, but under Project Dragon’s platforms we can only see PC and X/S listed.

Whatever the case may turn out to be, it will be interesting to see what the developer of Hitman comes up with when they put shooter and fantasy together.

About the author Ed: Playing videogames, writing about videogames, considering videogames—that about sums it up. Videogames are the one hobby that I’ve kept since I was only little, zapping ducks on the NES or knocking out MR. X. And when I’m not enjoying classics from the bit generation of games or checking out those earliest of polygons, I’ probably playing something from today’s age of modern gaming: if I’m not complaining about it.

Something I’m doing at the moment? Being impress by Project Firestart.
