C64 and Spectrum handhelds Delayed

Blaze has announced that the handheld designed C64 and ZX Spectrum emulations machines will be delayed due to issues with production.

Writing on the HyperMegatech website:

‘To our community,

We wanted to share an important update regarding the upcoming TheC64 and The Spectrum Handhelds.

After careful consideration, we have made the decision to move the release date from 15th October 2026 to 22nd April 2027. This date change applies to both standard and collector’s editions.

During production, we identified areas where the product construction was not meeting our high standards. While we could address some issues quickly and release the products in 2026, we believe taking this additional time is the right decision to give you the best experience possible.

We know this news will be disappointing, and we’d like to thank you for your patience and continued support.

We cannot wait for you to get your hands on TheC64 and The Spectrum Handhelds when they launch on 22nd April 2027.

Please note that the Evercade Nexus is not affected by this change and remains on track for release on 30th October 2026.
