There will almost certainly be some backroom dealings next week, if Bloomberg is right. The news outlet has reported that Microsoft President Brad Smith is on his way to the UK, where he will speak to Chancellor Jeremy Hunt. There surely would to be plenty to speak about, but if this meeting goes ahead, the thing that many gamers will want hear about is the CMA’s decision to reject the purchase of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft.

Microsoft is sore about the decision – of course – and the CMA is none too happy either after the European Commission okayed the deal.

Chancellor Hunt himself has questioned the CMA’s decision, so any such discussion will probably be Mr. Smith preaching to the converted; it looks like this deal is only going to be decided in the courts.
