Nintendo really has firmly thrust handheld gaming back into the spotlight with the monumentally popular Switch, and now companies can’t seem to help but join the fun. First Valve brought their Steam Deck to the market and now Asus has the ROG (that’s Republic of Gamers) Ally, a new handheld PC for all your gaming needs. That’s what the machine is being billed as anyway, with a whole lot of technical specification that we are reliably informed are very impressive. The Asus Ally is already being positioned as a progression over Valve’s Steam Deck, having the capability of playing some of the most demanding games on out right now with higher frame rates, better graphical settings and a Windows 11 operating system (you can decide yourself whether you think that’s a good or bad thing.

Since its reveal last month Asus has been quiet about the Asus Ally’s price, but now we have the news of a £699/$699 for the ‘extreme’ (more powerful version of the handheld), and is available for pre-order now. The machine is set to launch on the 13th of June, 2023.
