It’s been a rough time for fans of the Xbox console. Studios closed, games cancelled and once exclusive games are no longer exclusive, one after another after another. The whole ‘everything is an Xbox’ has left people asking what do I need the big, expensive box under my TV for then? I’m not sure if it will answer that question, but Microsoft will at least hope that the newest Developer Direct will give Xbox diehards something to look forward too.
The new Microsoft presentation will give us a look at Fable, Forza Horizon 6 and Game Freak’s Beast of Reincarnation (yep, Game Freak have taken the rare turn to something other than Pokémon).
The Developer Direct will air on the 22ndof January, 2026, at ‘10am Pacific / 1pm Eastern / 6pm UK’ according to Xbox Wire.
Playing videogames, writing about videogames, considering videogames—that about sums it up. Videogames are the one hobby that I’ve kept since I was only little, zapping ducks on the NES or knocking out MR. X. And when I’m not enjoying classics from the bit generation of games or checking out those earliest of polygons, I’m probably playing something from today’s age of modern gaming: if I’m not complaining about it. Something I’m doing at the moment?
