What Is Evercade Alpha?
The headline says it all. The people at Blaze are cooking something else up, and it’s coming soon. But like the headline says: what is Evercade Alpha? We might not know the details, but we’re pretty sure that it’s going to be a new console. Remember that Blaze has projected a total of four new pieces of ‘hardware’ to be coming this year, with the EXP-R and VS-R accounting for two of them. If that wasn’t enough, a new listing for the VS-R controller; that listing has a picture of the controller’s box with text that lists compatibility with the aforementioned consoles, as well as ‘Alpha’. That means we’re almost certainly talking about a new console—hopefully a slightly more powerful but still affordable system, as I’ve been hoping to see for a while now. Then we could be in for an explosion of possible candidate games that Blaze could licence.
Playing videogames, writing about videogames, considering videogames—that about sums it up. Videogames are the one hobby that I’ve kept since I was only little, zapping ducks on the NES or knocking out MR. X. And when I’m not enjoying classics from the bit generation of games or checking out those earliest of polygons, I’m probably playing something from today’s age of modern gaming: if I’m not complaining about it. Something I’m doing at the moment? Returning to the many Final Fantasy games on the Switch to complete a couple more.
