The virtual death of PSVR2
Worrying signs
There are some worrying signs that time is short for Sony’s Playstation VR 2. One could say the writing was already on the wall for Sony’s headache of a headset. The system has sold more like dry paint than hot cakes, and Sony has effectively abandoned the platform, not lifting much more than an eyebrow in it’s direction with first-party developed games, and now we have news of a big game on the system losing support from its developer.
Beat Saber, one of the more popular VR titles, one that’s seen success on multiple platforms, will officially see support end for both PSVR and PSVR2. The news looks to be another indication that PSVR2 isn’t shifting software, or at least not at a pace to make continued support worth while for even one of the more popular titles on the platform.

Playing videogames, writing about videogames, considering videogames—that about sums it up. Videogames are the one hobby that I’ve kept since I was only little, zapping ducks on the NES or knocking out MR. X. And when I’m not enjoying classics from the bit generation of games or checking out those earliest of polygons, I’m probably playing something from today’s age of modern gaming: if I’m not complaining about it. Something I’m doing at the moment? Taking the Nintendo Switch 2 for a spin.
