Shovel Knight 3D!

Yacht Club Games has had their own showcase to give us all updates on their well loved mascot, Shovel Knight, and their next big game, Mina The Hollower. Their showcase might have gone under the radar, especially after following on from the big boys over the Summer Game Fest event. But, unless you’re an avowed Shovel Knight naysayer, the showcase is worth a look. Not only was Mina The Hollower there, the next very promising game from Yacht Club, but there were also some not so subtle hints about what’s next for Shovel Knight. Mr. Sean Velasco, founder of Yacht Club Games, told us that a new Shovel Knight game is indeed in the works, and that it would be taking Shovel Knight’s adventures into a ‘new dimension’, and this was accompanied by a shiny 3D logo.
Now, let me preface this by writing that no one is going to accusing me of verging on Sherlockian deductions, but I’m pretty sure Yacht Club Games is telling us that the next Shovel Knight game is going to be a 3D affair.

Playing videogames, writing about videogames, considering videogames—that about sums it up. Videogames are the one hobby that I’ve kept since I was only little, zapping ducks on the NES or knocking out MR. X. And when I’m not enjoying classics from the bit generation of games or checking out those earliest of polygons, I’m probably playing something from today’s age of modern gaming: if I’m not complaining about it. Something I’m doing at the moment? Returning to the black hole that is Football Manager.
