Romhacking News only

If you’ve any interest in patches for old games, from randomizers to translations, then you’ll almost certainly have heard of Romhacking.net, if you haven’t used it yourself. The site is the world’s most comprehensive collection of retro game patches (except for internet archive, if that counts), but for reasons that have only been lightly touched upon by Romhacking chief Nightcrawler, the site will no longer take submissions for anything other than news.

The particulars of Romhacking will still remain, with Nightcrawler having released the patches, images etc. of the site to Internet Archive, but the great job that Nightcrawler did in curating and maintaining such a well presented library of everything patchy will certainly be missed.

You can read the message from Nightcrawler here.

Playing videogames, writing about videogames, considering videogames—that about sums it up. Videogames are the one hobby that I’ve kept since I was only little, zapping ducks on the NES or knocking out MR. X. And when I’m not enjoying classics from the bit generation of games or checking out those earliest of polygons, I’m probably playing something from today’s age of modern gaming: if I’m not complaining about it. Something I’m doing at the moment? Returning to the black hole that is Football Manager.
