Nintendo Direct July 2025

Capcom? Konami? Namco?

In my recent reflections on the Switch 2 after just about a month with the console, I wrote that one of the only proper gripes I’ve had with Nintendo’s hybrid hero is the lack of quality titles to play on the system, especially exclusives. Well, as if they were reading, Nintendo has announced that they will be airing a Partner Direct event to showcase games coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 tomorrow, at 2pm in Great Britain, 3pm in Central Europe and 6am P.T./ 9am E.T. in the U.S.A.

I’m not expecting too many exclusives to be announced, those are probably better served at a Nintendo headed Direct, but I do expect to see a lot of games getting ported, possibly some very old ones; and a lot of those titles that would have had the original Switch running a little too hot.

Playing videogames, writing about videogames, considering videogames—that about sums it up. Videogames are the one hobby that I’ve kept since I was only little, zapping ducks on the NES or knocking out MR. X. And when I’m not enjoying classics from the bit generation of games or checking out those earliest of polygons, I’m probably playing something from today’s age of modern gaming: if I’m not complaining about it.
