Namco on Evercade

The first two Namco carts on Evercade are something of an anomaly. Because of licencing deals done between Blaze and Namco the games have been not been playable on the Evercade VS but have been playable on everything else. That’s because the carts were licenced as being for handhelds, so the HDMI-out port on the VS which allows you to hook the games up to a TV is a no-no for Namco. Things have changed however, and no one but Blaze could tell us why.
Coming from premier Evercade Youtuber in his latest video, Crazy Burger has discovered that both Namco collections are now playable on the Evercade VS. When this change was made is not clear and Blaze have not made a comment on it as of writing, but Crazy Burger has said that his Evercade VS is updated to the latest firmware. It will be interesting to see if this development is a sign of things to come; it’s possible that Blaze has worked out a new deal with Namco for more games to come on a future cart and the old Namco carts were part of it, another possibility is that of a renewal of the contract for a reissue of the old carts, or maybe this was some sort of mistake on Blaze’s part, though that would be a bizarre one.
