More Evercade Carts Become Legacy

More legacy, less games
Unfortunate news for Evercade fans, more carts have become legacy. What that means is that four more carts will no longer be manufactured because the licence Blaze possessed to do so has expired. The four carts that are to cease production are:
- Piko Interactive Collection 2
- Indie Heroes Collection 1
- Mega Cat Studios Collection 2
- The Sydney Hunter Collection
According to Blaze the four carts will enter legacy status in December 2025; at that point the stock left with retailers will be all the stock available. Anyone looking to add these carts to their collection after these carts have sold out will have to do so through the secondhand market.
It’s a shame to see more carts cease production for the Evercade platform, it makes collection harder, especially for people who come to the platform later; but it’s quite possible that the reason Blaze has allowed these licences to expire is because the carts aren’t sell in the volume necessary to justify renewing them, and if that’s the case then perhaps there’s not very many people who will find themselves in that position anyway.

Playing videogames, writing about videogames, considering videogames—that about sums it up. Videogames are the one hobby that I’ve kept since I was only little, zapping ducks on the NES or knocking out MR. X. And when I’m not enjoying classics from the bit generation of games or checking out those earliest of polygons, I’m probably playing something from today’s age of modern gaming: if I’m not complaining about it. Fiddling with the Lenovo Legion Go.
