Masters of Albion has a release date
and a new trailer
I am perhaps somewhat naive, perhaps a bit sympathetic, but I can’t seem to help but find myself believing Peter Molyneux. It’s something of a tired jock at this point, but Mr. Molyneux over promising (if I’m being generous) is a real problem, one that’s popped up over many titles the videogame developer veteran has had a hand in, but somehow I want to believe that his next game, Masters of Albion, might just be a return to form. The newest god-game from the man who pioneered the genre has a new trailer, and a release date to go with it.
The game is releasing on the 22nd of April this year, and is only confirmed as coming to PC for now. Peter Molyneux has suggested that Masters of Albion will be his last game, and that it owes a lot to the many classics he’s made over the years. Maybe I’m falling for the narrative, but I want to believe that Peter Molyneux, if this is to be his last game, will wash his hands with a new classic, re-establishing what might be described as his genre of videogames.

Playing videogames, writing about videogames, considering videogames—that about sums it up. Videogames are the one hobby that I’ve kept since I was only little, zapping ducks on the NES or knocking out MR. X. And when I’m not enjoying classics from the bit generation of games or checking out those earliest of polygons, I’m probably playing something from today’s age of modern gaming: if I’m not complaining about it. Something I’m doing at the moment? Finally tackling Octopath Traveller 2.
