Head Over Heels Is Back
I didn’t grow up with the old home computers—my first experiences with videogame platforms were the NES and the Atari 2600. However thanks to the Retro Games Limited and their emulation machines of classic computers I’ve had a chance to place some highlights from the Commodore 64 and ZX Spectrum; and Head Over Heels is definitely one of those highlights.
The isometric action adventure game has always been a favourite among fans of the classic home computer, and now a remaster is coming to Steam on the 6th of March, 2025, and to the Nintendo Switch at a later date.
The remaster is going to improve visuals over the original, offer hints for those frustrating moments and even add a some new enemies and items, as well as a new area for Head Over Heels veterans.
Playing videogames, writing about videogames, considering videogames—that about sums it up. Videogames are the one hobby that I’ve kept since I was only little, zapping ducks on the NES or knocking out MR. X. And when I’m not enjoying classics from the bit generation of games or checking out those earliest of polygons, I’m probably playing something from today’s age of modern gaming: if I’m not complaining about it. Something I’m doing at the moment? Playing through Neo Dimension Fantasian.
