Freedom Wars Remastered
Who remembers Freedom Wars? Freedom Wars—the PS Vita exclusive? Wait! Don’t tell me: you’ve never played Freedom Wars because you’ve never owned a Vita because Sony was gouging fans when it came to prince and that powerful pocket machine, right? Well, that puts you in line with almost everyone else. But from the small few who did play Freedom Wars, let me tell you that it was a pretty fun game. It most commonly made me think of the God Eater and Monster Hunter games, and if you’re familiar with either of them, then you’ll have a pretty good idea of what to expect from Freedom Wars.
Imagine the pleasant surprise then, when it was announced that the Sony action game was making a comeback as a remastered re-release, courtesy of Bandai Namco.
Although it’s not under Sony’s banner any more, the Freedom Wars remaster will make a reappearance on Playstation consoles, with time the PS4 and 5, but it will also come to the Nintendo Switch and PC, releasing on all platforms on the 10th of January, 2025.
Playing videogames, writing about videogames, considering videogames—that about sums it up. Videogames are the one hobby that I’ve kept since I was only little, zapping ducks on the NES or knocking out MR. X. And when I’m not enjoying classics from the bit generation of games or checking out those earliest of polygons, I’m probably playing something from today’s age of modern gaming: if I’m not complaining about it. Something I’m doing at the moment? I started dipping my toes in the vast sea of Kemco JRPGs.
