Evercade & SNK

2024 has been a busy year for Blaze. The people behind the Polymega didn’t just manage to release a slew of new cartridges, but they probably included the biggest licences so far with the Tomb Raider collection. On top of that, revisions to the Evercade VS, EXP, new Super Pocket machines and a new collaboration with Capcom for the bartop arcade machines, the Evercade Alpha, it has really been a big effort for the cheap and cheerful console platform.
Even with everything we’ve seen from Evercade this year, Blaze seem to be eager to show us that they aren’t slowing down in 2025, with the news that Evercade will be working with SNK next year.
But what can we expect from this new partnership? Well, a bit of everything I’d guess. According to the official announcement from Blaze, this new licencing will include ‘officially licensed retro gaming products and physical cartridge releases for use on hardware like Evercade EXP-R, VS-R, and Alpha bartop arcade machines, as well as Super Pocket devices.’
So we’re probably going to see arcade carts in 2025, Super Pocket variations and SNK licenced Evercade Alpha arcade machines too.

Playing videogames, writing about videogames, considering videogames—that about sums it up. Videogames are the one hobby that I’ve kept since I was only little, zapping ducks on the NES or knocking out MR. X. And when I’m not enjoying classics from the bit generation of games or checking out those earliest of polygons, I’m probably playing something from today’s age of modern gaming: if I’m not complaining about it. Something I’m doing at the moment? I started dipping my toes in the vast sea of Kemco JRPGs.
