What’s Nexus?

Is Blaze soon to reveal a new console to the Evercade platform? It’s possible. Blaze has sent out an email to those of us subscribed to them that teases something called Evercade Nexus. All the email tells us is that ‘Evercade Nexus is coming soon’ and ‘you’ll find out very shortly’. A new piece of hardware would fit with Blaze’s modus operandi, since they followed a similar course when it came to the Evercade VS and Alpha, but Nexus could also be something else: a service perhaps, a way to buy games on the Evercade platform individually even? The issue I see with that is that it would require new hardware anyway (unless this was a digital shop for PC like Steam, which sound beyond Blaze’s scope of power to me) and that it would be at odds with the Evercade image of bringing back retro games with physical media.

Whatever the case, I’m very interested to see what the Nexus is.

Playing videogames, writing about videogames, considering videogames—that about sums it up. Videogames are the one hobby that I’ve kept since I was only little, zapping ducks on the NES or knocking out MR. X. And when I’m not enjoying classics from the bit generation of games or checking out those earliest of polygons, I’m probably playing something from today’s age of modern gaming: if I’m not complaining about it.
