Evercade Delayed Again

Despite the good news that has been rolling out of Blaze surrounding the Evercade platform: Tomb Raider and Legacy of Kain collections coming to the system, a bartop arcade machine in two variants (including another dalliance with Capcom) and so on. However, some bad news from the company, news that will sound familiar to fans, is that the Evercade EXP-R has had its release delayed again until November.
We wrote about the delays to the EXP-R and VS-R earlier this year, though this time the delay is only effecting the EXP-R. The delay of the handheld is down to an ‘an intermittent problem was found in 20% of the stock’, according to an article by Blaze boss Mr. Andrew Byatt (that you can read here).
Although the news will be disappointing to fans that were looking to pick up the revised handheld, but given the fact that this issue is only effecting the EXP-R, it probably involves the battery, and since I (and as far as I can gather anecdotally) others have had issues with the battery in the original EXP, if this delay can save people needing replacement units from blaze a few months after buying the EXP-R, then it’s definitely with the wait.

Playing videogames, writing about videogames, considering videogames—that about sums it up. Videogames are the one hobby that I’ve kept since I was only little, zapping ducks on the NES or knocking out MR. X. And when I’m not enjoying classics from the bit generation of games or checking out those earliest of polygons, I’m probably playing something from today’s age of modern gaming: if I’m not complaining about it. Something I’m doing at the moment? Returning to the black hole that is Football Manager.
