Evercade Alpha = Arcade

Blaze has revealed the latest hardware to join the Evercade platform: bar-top arcade machines that come in two flavours.

That’s right, the Evercade Alpha is a brand new arcade line coming from Blaze that will come in two editions. The first is a Street fighter themed machine that will come with 6 games installed to the machine, and the second is a Mega Man themed machine that will also feature 6 pre-loaded games. But things don’t end there. These arcade machines are part of the Evercade platform, so each one will come with two slots to accept Evercade cartirdges—so you can have a dedicated screen for your Evercade arcade games. And if you need more buttons – as some games on Evercade do – there are two ports for controllers so you (and a friend) can play the console games with a d-pad.

Prices are a bit of a shocker though, with these two machines being priced at £199.99 (or $229.99/Euros) each.
The Evercade Alpha machines are releasing in November of 2024; and pre-orders will start on the 4th of June.

Playing videogames, writing about videogames, considering videogames—that about sums it up. Videogames are the one hobby that I’ve kept since I was only little, zapping ducks on the NES or knocking out MR. X. And when I’m not enjoying classics from the bit generation of games or checking out those earliest of polygons, I’m probably playing something from today’s age of modern gaming: if I’m not complaining about it. Something I’m doing at the moment? Returning to the black hole that is Football Manager.
