MiSTer FPGA Clone

Things never seem to get cheaper, do they? That’s a rhetorical question: I’m sure they do, it just doesn’t seem like they do. Well if you feel the same as me then Taki Udon has some good news for you.

The Youtuber has been busy working on a cheaper alternative to the MiSter, that FPGA-based emulation machine that gives us very accurate emulation, but at a higher price. Taki Udon’s new alternative was aiming to come to market at a price of $99—but now it’s even cheaper. That’s nice.

In a new X post from Taki Udon, the emulation enthusiast let the internet know that the $99 board and $115 kit would now be releasing at a cheaper price.

Playing videogames, writing about videogames, considering videogames—that about sums it up. Videogames are the one hobby that I’ve kept since I was only little, zapping ducks on the NES or knocking out MR. X. And when I’m not enjoying classics from the bit generation of games or checking out those earliest of polygons, I’m probably playing something from today’s age of modern gaming: if I’m not complaining about it. Something I’m doing at the moment? Returning to the black hole that is Football Manager.
