Edge of Memories Reveal

Edge of Memories, the sequel to Edge of Eternity, was revealed along with a trailer for the game.

Following on from the crowd-funded Edge of Eternity, Memories looks to be changing things up, with the sequel taking shape as an action RPG rather than the turn-based combat of EoE.

Edge of Memories comes from game developer Midgar Studios; a French game studio that has been heavily influenced by Japanese videogames (if their name didn’t give it away). That was clear for any JRPG fans that played Edge of Eternity; and, while the game lacked polish in some areas, EoE provided a fun adventure with siblings Daryon and Selene in a fantastical world.

I’m a fan of Edge of Eternity and very interested to see what Midgar Studios does with Edge of Memories. Although I’m a little disappointed to hear the series is moving away from turn-based combat for this entry, here’s hoping that the studio has grown from their experience with Edge of Eternity and can deliver on the vision they have for Memories.

Edge of Memories is scheduled for a release in the fourth quarter of 2025, and is coming to the PS5, Xbox Series and PC via Steam.

Playing videogames, writing about videogames, considering videogames—that about sums it up. Videogames are the one hobby that I’ve kept since I was only little, zapping ducks on the NES or knocking out MR. X. And when I’m not enjoying classics from the bit generation of games or checking out those earliest of polygons, I’m probably playing something from today’s age of modern gaming: if I’m not complaining about it. Something I’m doing at the moment? Playing through Neo Dimension Fantasian.
